What hours do part timers do in your office?

Just curious as to what part timers hours are in various offices and the work load they are expected to complete, or complete anyway. Do Reps see them taken advantage of and have any taken any steps to remedy the situation?

EDITED:Sorry, I wasn't clear enough regarding my question. Disregarding overtime, etc, what is expected of you on your part time contracted hours eg. 25 hours to bag up, and deliver only, 20 hours, whatever that involves.

I am a part-timer. Our office has many part-timers, usually on 25 hour contracts. Any of the 25-hour contract(ers) who willingly do overtime can expect to work at least 40 hours a week. Some do 50 or 60 (two walks a day, likewise on their day off and, as I've outlined previously on this site, instances of two and a half walks a day are not unheard of). If it wasn't for the overtime, thirty or so walks would not go out. When somebody is off sick, the shizzle hits the fan.

Most of them in are office are contracted for 20 hours but work over 30 hours

some pt in ours work from 5am - 7,8 pm i kid you not but if we say were over 30 mins you wouldn,t believe the crap you have to suffer

No RM employee has to work over there contracted hours ,if you want to work over your hours make sure you book over time, keep your own record of your hours, and make sure you get paid.! If you dont want to work over your hours inform your lino before you leave the office. Watch his face twist and contort and his lips move as he tries to convince you that you have to work over your hours. You dont

most of us have to. i dont want but i need to.

The ones in some of the small rural ones, prep (no IPS), bag off deliver in 4 hours 35 mins. No RDO or RWO though...

In my office:
35 hours 0600-1300, 1 hr IPS, all prep, delivery
30 hours 0630-1230, No IPS, all prep, delivery
25 hours 0800-1300, No IPS, finish prep (which usually means most of it), delivery.

Most p/t need to do o/t which management are willing to pay, but now they are not allowed to claim extended! On Saturday one p/t had to cut off as he had reached his time, went back to office and took another delivery out on o/t.

Congratulations RM you have proved us wrong. You can organise a pi**-up in a bakery.

Only have about 6 p/time in my office, all 7 -2. They've all been told their contracts arn't going to renewed even though most of them have been there for over 2 years. We've some 0 hr contracts aswell who start from 8.

personally I am a part timer. My start time is 7:35-14:15. I prep the frame, and do the walk.

Current frame takes me 3-3 1/2 hours to prep..

walking takes around 4 hours.

The 25hr contracts should come in to a bagged up walk (4 hr walk) but they never do.Normally the frame is prepped but they have to tie down etc. D2D into workload has been a major cock up.
The 29.5hr contracts should come in to a partially prepped frame but have to do all their own prep.
We have one 27.5hr contract. Don't know why.
This s**t can only go on because so many of them use their own cars. If that had to stop, then the manager would have to ensure that the resources were in place so everyone left at the same time.

three an a half hours to prep a walk

,how many calls do you have ?

This is what is needed to create a level playing field across the board. If no one could leave until ALL frames were prepped we would be looking at a totally different ball game. How many part time contracts with differing hours are there? There needs to be some sort of structure to them (will never happen) or fulltime jobs are in grave danger when RM realise they can get someone on a 25 hour contract to do the same job as someone on a 40 hour contract.

im contracted for 20 hours. but usually do 29-35 hours

most of the part timers in my d.o. usually do 5 to 10 hours on top of there 20 hour contracts. a couple even do 40+ on regular basis!!
