3 1/2 hr delivery span

We are yet to have a walk sequencing revision but are in the process of having a geo-route revision.Am i right in thinking that the 3 1/2 hr max delivery span still applies unless we agree otherwise?

Nope your wrong it's not upto you to agree on it you just get told what you will be doing. Some offices this week have been informed that they will be doing 4hr 30min walks when the changes come in!

I would argue that delivery spans are equipment-dependant. The purpose of using new equipment (shared vans, hct's, lwt's etc) is that weight is taken off the shoulder allowing for longer delivery spans. However, if town duties are still cycle-based then you can make a case for 3.5 hour delivery spans as weight is not being removed from the shoulder.

Remember : Health and Safety is priority for Royal Mail so take advantage of the opportunities offered by H&S.

says on page 7 in the table about Maximum delivery Spans

3.5 hours and Assumes an average 30 mins daily travel in addition.

Seems clear to me if you are on a walking delivery with no trolleys/carts/CDVs then the maximum span from 1st to last letter is 210 minutes.

No walk sequencing in the review for my office and the walks are going up to 4 hours 15. That's a Royal Mail 4 hours 15 in reality many of the walks look a lot bigger than that.

When our mail comes in walk sequenced the delivery span is going up to 4 hours 30. So that will be 5-6 hours walking at Christmas? I don't think so, time to start cutting off.
