Well boys girls, just wondering what failures we have had today.
At our place (NG AREA) the DIM/DOM was offering O/T to clear out, strange thing is for the last six
weeks we were told to bring back what we couldn't complete to time & deliver the following day.
Guess what - no takers , failed about 200 pkts & god knows how much mail - sad days
Absolute mare,
Late drivers switched so they could cover for the shortfall in delivery drivers.
Didn't bother doing the missort van, 5k items.
Loads of Walks still in Office at 1pm-(finishing time 2:30), they've started offering O/T but no takers, everyones knackered!
When they try to sell us off, they had better not let any prospective buyers in house, they'd run a mile!

Obviously your DOM wants it cleared so he can bugger off for 11am tomorrow morning.. Is it in the DOMs working handbook that they're the only one's allowed to finish early on a Saturday? and when Sat becomes a normal working day i bet they're still away for 11.
about 10% of our rounds failed today. Havent touched mail sort since wednesday as we are not allowed nights and our mail centre is 3 days behind. Oh and no large packets have gone out since wednesday because we have not got enough vans but 30 miles away there is over 200 vans rusting away waiting for van sharing.
Our dim still insists mail volumes are dropping
Due to lack of IPS sorters we failed about 3 yorkies of mail, mostly mailsort but dsa in there as well.
Each time a FT leaves they are replaced by PT. One less sorter each time plus another FT off to throw in the mail for PT.
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.

We used to be like that but they've just cut one job to many, plus all this new machinery they've got so much faith in seems to have a habit of breaking down once or twice a week.
I'm going to hold my hands up here,in my office apart from the very odd day our mail is seriously down.
We've none of that mass part time shite so i guess that affects us even less.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
