We`re less than two months away from implementing the new duty structures, had our meeting with the reps and management last week. One thing that came out of the meeting was that we were going to continue our existing day off rota, meaning we`re still only going to get one saturday off in six.
Am I wrong in thinking this should not be the case? or were the noises made about getting one saturday in three/four off just suggestions rather than an agreement made between management and the CWU?

If I were you I'd stick with your rotating day off. You will have to pay the price if you want more Saturdays off. Say there were 5 in a team and one of you had the Saturday off the other 4 would end up taking that persons walk out.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Did you not have a preference exercise to say what duty patterns you would like to work,These new duty patterns gave options for 1 in 4 off or better.
The agreement DOES state majority will work 1in 4 though nothing was guaranteed.
Sounds like your revision has been rushed and without the correct union involvement.
Take solace in the fact you will not be alone

Our revision was done by managers and union guy, no involvement from the shop floor. We`ve basically just been told what duties are going to be, no focus group, nobody asking senior posties advice to see what will and what won`t work etc.gb93 wrote:Did you not have a preference exercise to say what duty patterns you would like to work,These new duty patterns gave options for 1 in 4 off or better.

It can't be signed off without the office members yes vote(well that's the theory anyway).
Refuse to implement it as a office till it is done properly.

It dosent have to be that way, you can implement the duty stuctures shown in the national menu of options.
