Back from a short trip to Lyon and witnessed a postie there with one of the trolleys that they push with a pannier on either side (I've seen old ones in our offices but dunno what they're called). There was a bundle of mail resting on top, he left the trolley and went inside a block of flats, came out and carried on again. The trolley wasn't lockable either, just a bag on either side.
This is in a side street in the city where you could quite easily have made off with the trolley before he'd been back out again.
However, they have a very safe city, lots of surveillance and the Police have guns...
There also seems to be a distinct lack of hi viz anything on any of the uniforms over there! Postie had none, the Police had none... The National Gendarmerie (basically soldiers policing the streets) had camouflage outfits on and absolutely HUGE guns so I suppose you can't really miss them anyway! Ironic given the camouflage but anyway.

The French, a lot of football fans who have french players, I like french women, I like the cheap booze and fags although I don't smoke I can sell at a profit, some lovely country side over there and the south coast, that's nice too.Dogs of War wrote:Who cares about france.

No cheap fags in France anymore, only about 10p cheaper than they are here. Ex customs house on the French/Belgium border is ok for cheap tobacco. You can get a litre of wine for about 75p(probably anti freeze or meths), its ok if you are an piss head or French
