Monday to Friday jury service, Saturday made to work.
We had a guy in our work who's dayoff was Tuesday and but had to attend jury service. I'm i right or wrong regards Saturday would be his dayoff if he's attending jury service.

You are contracted to work 6 days a week. However, you are also entitled to your day off (if you have RDO that is).
My old lino was a complete git for p*ss*n me about with hours. I'd be put on loan to another office, agree my hours with the DOM of that office, do those hours and then get a phone call on the Friday telling me I was back at the other D.O. on Saturday because they'd forgotten to cover the duty.

He really should have cleared this beforehand because if he claimed for loss of earnings for tuesday and it WAS his day off he is claiming fraudulently.

We had a manager at my place who was on jury service for 6 months,never saw him on a Sat!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I did it a while back, took in the letter saying I was on 2 weeks jury service and that was it. They didn't see me for 2 weeks

Same here. Jury service = no work.
Which was great, because in the second week the court didn't need me!
Thing is though, you are 'on standby' and can be called in if they need you.
