There were further talks on resolving the delivery issues including the model week etc. The aim was to put out a joint statement covering progress thus far and providing a matrix of issues which have been discussed. The matrix includes 37 issues some of which have been resolved and some are still being worked out.

I would imagine it involves the decision or not to use the lowest traffic week to resource your office amongst other things.

The joint statement will include the work measurement standards and revison tools. It will include which traffic weeks that duties will be modelled on. At the moment Royal Mail want to use weeks 11 -17 from last year (june , july ) or weeks 41 -44 in January. Their solution is to take the lower of these two avearages meaning that you flex up rather than laspe in periods of avearage traffic.

It will also include a matrix of issues which have either been resolved or are still to be resolved.

These include every thing from CDV guidelines , to barometer walk count process , d2d contracts not being equal across an office , upper decile benchmarking process , test call rate calculator in live enviornment , cwu concerns on model week packets and flats , process for removal of cars , training package for local reps and Doms , fatugue / heat study , Scotland fatigue study , Birmingham traffic study,validate d2d prep , plus a few other issues.

No one can argue that every issue is being drilled down on to ensure that revisions are correct , but if local offices allow managers to do what they want then that is their fault, the engagement process should ensure that local offices are protected.

Thanks for the update Dingo much appreciated and very intresting. Do Scottish Posties get knackered quicker or slower than us soft English ones.

However, slightly concerned by the section I quoted. Lumping all the blame onto the local office is a little harsh. Any good Rep, of which you are one, would no doubt try to defend an office, or at least mitigate the damage as far as possible, and therefore if an office is "Done over", surely the reasons why should be investigated at all levels and lessons learned, otherwise we start to repeat the mistakes of 2007 all over again.
