just wanted to share this

the other day our sequenced mail came in at 915am!!!! im not sure why , but it made us all very late with deliveries. we were standing around for like an hour with nothing to do. :confused before it came in. then when it came in we had to sort the sequenced into our own frames ,bundle up ( this is 915 ) do a final redirections, then bundle up my part up of summer savings. i got out at 950am :mad did my summer slavings which took me to 1020am then i could finally start on my own round. my rural delivery usually takes me 4 hours, i didnt finish til 230pm.
are they trying to make us deliberatly late or something cos its really peeing me off!

no wonder ppl are RUSHING the job and getting into trouble over leaving packets here and there. christ i have a life too u know and i wanna get home , i dont wanna still delivering mail at 3pm!!!

as for cutting off ,well if i tell a manager they just snub u and say , oh come on u can manage it all etc..... :mad

It depends.
If it was a one off problem at the M/C then it's nothing to worry about but....
If it means that you have been bumped down your batch order with the WSM because other more distant offices have come online then you may find your start times changing because despite what some on here say IWT does not have a setting for "standing around for like an hour with nothing to do" ....you have to align the hours with the work not the other way around.

I expect the cries :cry to go up in my office when this happens......................TBH I'm now at the stage of wanting to go a later starts (because tonight I'm off to bed a 9pm for a 5.30 start tomorrow).

Dreading it at my place to be honest.

When you say you finished at 2.30 pm you dont mention a break of any kind :hmmmm I hope your stopping somewhere around the delivery for a bite to eat because thats too long to work through. :shock: You will make yourself ill :sad:

What is your hrs of attendance?
And are you killing yourself to finish on time?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

put in 10hrs ex this week due to no conv plan and summer savings :left: keep it coming mgmt your managing to clear my overdraught for me cheers and no im not rushing around
i even refuse summer lapsing bit sit in van when others take theirs out so im paid to watch them work their choice though
tried to explain you only take it out if you have time wonderful mgmt

The hour you stand around is your break.
Not in my book but in their book it is.
In our office we wait an hour for mail and do nothing.Its classed as our break and then we go out for another 4 hours and get done around 2.30pm.
This is what they want now.
The day most mail comes up sequenced we'll be screwed.1 hour to prep walk and a 6 hour delivery.And the union are backing it by the looks of it.

There,s NO WAY i could work for 6 hours on the streets delivering without stopping for some sort of a break. I would hope H/S would have a field day with this if they ever tried to introduce it.
