Sitting here, chewing my nails waiting for my 16 year old son's exam results to drop through the door.
Practising my best..."it doesn't matter...there's always next year face".
They don't tell you about days like this in the Parenting for dummies book.
Where's that feckin useless postman?

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
Your postman is probably sweating his nuts off carrying a bag round the streets for 1/2 a crown a week whilst the students lie in bed waiting for their exam results to be delivered

Passed them all CCR. 7 altogether so i'm very proud of the sulky long-haired EMO kid.
He wanted a credit in History or English so that he could study Politics and he got History so he's very happy.
I actually dont really mind delivering the results! The amount of ppl that make sure they are in today, look out for you coming down the street, meet you at the door to take the mail. No bending down to that low letter box. No having to carry the undelivered packet round with me.

Congratulations from all of us here on the West Coast to the young Fishtank.

That talk you gave him Fishtank must have worked.
You know the one that goes "study hard at school son or else you end up like me, a postie slogging your guts out around the streets for bugger all"
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

He doesn't know i'm a postie krussel.
I change out of my uniform before i get home...he thinks i'm on the dole....it's less embarrassing.

For me it's the other way round I put the uniform on and go out every day because I am on the dole.
Actually FT , you have to go through the same again through college and then Uni - then of course they need a job - there must be many many parents on here who have seen their children try and try again to get work - it's actually easier as a student but when the education is finished...................

Mind you in truth i once knew a postie who had lost his office job and used to change into a whistle and flute before he went home.
