Tax Discs

Can anyone help on this please, searched the internet and asked jevees no results.
Went to get my car taxed the other day from the post office, postmistress wrote on the disc Private, yet looked at another posties disc it says dealer, I don't really speak to the guy to ask him, but i noticed it as I was comapring prices of the cars age and discs in the yard..
What is the difference???

I think that the disk that says "dealer"must have been taxed when the car was still owned by the car dealership that sold it to the other postie,your disk says private because it is classed as private light goods,which all privately owned cars are.

that's correct, also get disabled written on them for those who get free road tax under the dla scheme :)
