leaving red cards without the packet

well I know plenty of customers have complained about but it happened to me today

sitting and i hear the mail drop
go up and theres a red card with the mail
open the door and see my regular guy (great postie!)
and he tells me it was from the driver from the day before
i can see by his face he is a bit sheepish about it

its a pair of shoes so tits a van call for sure (in their office set up)
but the question is why am i getting a red card from the day before?
we are a main door and the van comes by us every day.
its a dead end road but with over 100 houses and a sheltered housing complex
I dont know about you but if i ru out of P739's then i bring the packet back out the next day.
my mistake so i pay for it

then theres the card
no time,no date and on the back it says 24 hours to collect

so 24 hours from yesterday,today or what?

so im off today and i suppose i will have to trek along on the off chance since its may day off

however you can see from a customers point of view(who dont know how it works) how annoyed they would be

I take it your local D.O. isn't where you work.
The next time you see the van stop him and ask a few awkward questions...you never know he might have a valid reason.

I did that once, Im not a driver, with a packet for a woman who was never ever in.

Only on that day she was in, and complained and I served a 2 and a half week suspension, fully paid, and got a six month serious for my troubles.

Wont be doing that again in a hurry.

I've got a block of 40+ flats, the trade button goes off at 11.00am, the driver can never get there before 11.30 doing specials, bag drops etc, so I have red cards to deliver most days. Just wait till we get out even later, they'll get their mail once a week if they're lucky, unless they change the time on the entry system, but as I've been asking them to do that for 2 years I won't hold my breath. I will not be ringing 45 different flats every single day.

you ring the buzzers for those doors you have mail for
on D2D days you will have 'mail' for all 45
ive done stairs since i started at RM so i know what its like

Before we were given a universal block key, we had to ring the buzzers on the flats where the trades button was broken, which was most of them.

Could be anything up to 50 blocks, all with 4 upper flats, at 7am.

No, it was no fun at all, especially when 50% of them didnt bother answering and you'd have to take them out the next day.

Funnily enough was never a problem getting into flats on giro day, they couldnt help you enough with keeping the door open.
