Postie Assaulted

Details are sketchy at the moment, but a lad at our office was assaulted this morning, and stabbed 3 times in the arm with a hyperdermic needle.

He/They stole 1 parcel from him.

Ill update once I hear any more, but Im obviously hoping hes ok.

This has really shook me up.

Hope he's ok. Were the managers sympathetic? Only been sort of attacked once by three drunks,managers were fine, most embarrassing part for me was police came straight out and took me round streets to try and identify them, I'm sure customers though I'd been arrested!

I know the manager went out to the scene, and 3 other lads went and finished his round off, apart from that i know very little.

Probably be tomorrow morning when the bigger picture unfolds.

Its awful though, he about same age as me and has young kids just like me as well.

Makes you wonder.

That is terrible - when the lowlifes are caught I hope they get the book thrown at them.

Sometimes idiots like them make me briefly very right wing in my outlook as in they would make very good mine clearance volunteers walking in front of our lads in Afghanistan.

Probably crossed wires as this is quite common in some areas and most of the collection guys have been told to watch out for needles in the boxes.

this is disgraceful. i was working in the area this happened in this morning with another postman, we were shocked. what kind of disgusting scum does this. there are several post boxes in the surrounding area with warnings inside them that needles are regularly deposited in them. can't see why anyone would want to do this!!!!!

If you do get stabbed,shot or sexually assaulted on your walk always make sure you phone the dom and tell him you wont be able to do your absorbtion that day, just to cover your back.

In all seriousness i hope the lad makes a full recovery.

We had a collection driver on Tuesday have a gun put in his face because he cut someone up in traffic.
