In our do we have one remaining flyer who insists on coming in early,using his car,no meal break ,collating his door to door in his own time so he can get them all done on a monday and tuesday,all so he can get down the pub for lunchtime opening.
to be fair hes a nice lad and although for a while now weve been telling him hes playng with fire finishing at least an hour earlier than the rest of us townies he just shrugs his shoulders says thats the way hes always worked and he aint changing for anyone.Well today he was called into doms office and told he was to absorb a small estate of around 65 houses,that had been going out on docket everyday,a throwback from a previouse savings exercise.Boy did he go off at the deep end effing and blinding and moanng to anyone who would listen,but the short anwser was that we,d warned him, sad thing is we reckon he,l come in even earlier now just to finish at the same time as usual.Some pple never learn.

One of the worst things about coming in early is when managers decide to lump on more work on a walk, the fella will then sign for something else and there is always some poor sod who does the job properly gets lumbered with it and can't complete and is always told the other fella had no problem doing it and your just not working hard enough!!!

That's exactly what happened to one of the walks on our section. There was some steroid abusing cretin who used to finish at 12 o'clock everyday, raising eyebrows about the length of his walk, so a load was put on it and he still was finishing about 12.20 ish.Then I landed on it one week as holiday cover, thinking it was going to be a piece of piss when it turned out to be four hours long. Some people never learn.

You can only do what your time allows you, cut off after 3.5 hrs..........easy.

What i cant understand is that before this new agreement our office was secure until 5.50am The rep and
dom insisted on it .and now doors open, flyers in, prepped before six. no meal relief out as soon as they can
these are now the new heroes , but can these people see they are making it look bad on the sixer-clock
correct time starters .when some linos say if they can complete why cant you?

There is a guy in my section exactly like this. He is very new, ink on his contract is barely dry. So he is still deluded and doesnt see the error of his ways. Fly's out the door as soon as he can. Fly's round his delivery. He is in at least 90 minutes early every day and doesnt think nothing of putting down his finishing time 2 hours before he should be finishing. Why he has not been pulled up about it already, I dont f***ing know. I cannot f***ing wait to see what extra work is piled onto his delivery, I hope he keeps that delivery after the resign, as I really want to see how he copes with the extra workload that he will get as he wont have a f***ing leg to stand on when if he try's to suggest he has gotten too much.

I will admit i used to go in a little bit early most days before this agreement started. Maybe 15-20 minutes. The reason being it allowed me to get a little bit ahead and allowed me to relax a little more. Now I am in 5 minutes early if it all. I have noticed that the main problem that this has meant for me is that it has cut me off from the guys that work around me as I used to be able to stop and have a convo. Now I have to keep my head down and get the work done. Sad, but I was damned if I was gonna be a lapdog for RM.

When I spoke to a planner a couple of months back he said that because our deliveries varied by up to an hour and a half that no individual would be given extra. However he went on to say that once the revision was in place anyone who finishes too quickly would be given extra in the form of absorption instead of paying people overtime for covering walks etc.

Had an absolute classic in ours this week. Got a 32 hour AG who was lucky enough to be given a 40hour driving duty to cover whilst the normal guy on long term sick. So, he sees it as an opportunity to make some money and starts coming in 15 minutes early, taking out half the walk with his timed delivery at 7.30, not taking meal relief, cutting up the job in general - you know the type. Carries on doing so for about 4 or 5 weeks. As if that wasn't enough, they decide they can do the growth delivery as well and still be back by 1.15pm. Often saw them walking to their car when I was still delivering

Anyway, this week they have been told they can stay on the duty for the forseeable future BUT they have to go back to doing it on 32 hours! JUSTICE!
