Have been told by a local rep that our office cannot complete the required changes until the new machinery is up and running at our local mail centre which could take 1-2 years.does this mean sharing vans and walk revisions etc wont happen until such time ?

As I understand it no.

You could have a normal revision because of changes in housing (new build demolishing etc) or any other reason.

You could have a Delivery Method revision - which could include CDVs trolleys etc.

"New machinery" is only required, as I understand it, for the Walk Sequencing Revision which will happen only when your feeder MC has your offices walks (A plus) planned into their Walk Sequencing machines.

BTW this is a good reminder that if you want to make your life easier in the future make sure you keep your walk log and A Plus up to date.

So this is the paperwork that we were asked to check this week to say it reflects the frame. So what is the difference between this and walk log, or is the walk log the paper stuck on the frame which details doggie problems etc.

Yes the walk log should include a list of hazards, toilet stops, bag drops, pouch boxes, conveyance etc

Purely to clarify

Welfare facilities & Toilets:
Due to the potential for delivery staff to be away from their unit for extended periods of time
it is necessary to ensure there is suitable and sufficient access to welfare facilities particularly
sanitary conveniences. Access to toilets is a human right – doing without is not an option and
where there are no toilets available on the delivery walk or adjacent delivery walks then a
return to the unit is necessary.

Mandatory Contents of Every Walk Log:
Map of the Delivery Route.
Safe Drops described and shown on the map.
Toilet locations described and shown on the map.
The specification for the weight of each pouch, either generic or specific to the Walk.
A description of the method of delivery (eg HCT, cycle, etc) and the acceleration arrangements.
The WPQ 1, 2 and 3 Risk Assessments, identifying all hazards of significance.
Office contact numbers, including emergency numbers.
Guidance to any hard to find locations.
Outputs and advice drawn from the follow-up of previous accidents on the Walk.
