doing flex again today

Its all about working the hours that you're paid. If you have sufficient work to take you to your time then NO flexing. To flex is managements way of saying that you don't have enough outdoor element to take you to your 2pm last letter.

lapsing is to utilize spare capacity!
if you know for certain your going finish before 1.00pm then you've got time for 20 min lapse.

our lapsing which isn't every day is typically only 30-40 drops
a sixth of a round would give us 80+ sounds like your being taken for a ride
unless every day in your office is Tuesday.

it is the norm now!!!! We where told today that we now have to do the lapsing on saturdays as well. Reason is because the schools are closed the traffic is lighter we pointed out that the schools are closed every saturday!!!!! dom walked away and hid in his office.

we lapse mon to fri for the next ten weeks due to light mails
doing half hour extra delivery each,but things tend to alter on a daily basis due to very poor organisation skills of the ex phg who seems to be doing most of the dom's work these days!!!
of course the ex phg does very little lasping ,unless you count sitting watching deal or no deal on the comp working....

How many times do you people need to be told?????? You only work to your time. If you can absorb another part of a duty in your 8hrs then you do it. If you can't you don't do. Very simple.

you only lapse mon to fri? we have to lapse even on a saturday :-s but having said that they can get me to lapse 1/6th of a round or a complete round it doesnt bother me, when I'm due to be walking out the office door to go home thats what time I'll be going home. If it means bringing the lapsed delivery back so be it.

Flexing is another management money saving tool, they even got a newbie part timer to do it in my Office, that is a dirty trick to pull, I flexed one and it will be my last as it took me 25 minutes over as it changed the dynamics of my delivery as I had to walk back to my office 3 times instead of 2 to pick up my third bag, meaning more dead walking and its stupid, I told the Lino the same, so no more flex off e whatsoever, yep booked it, my point was made.

Flex is a con, its not utilising hours , its about saving overtime money.

Always amazes me how many people do Absorbing, flex, whatever you want to call it , in their own cars. Using petrol money for your own duty is bad enough, but for another walk is ridiculous. Some people fly out of our office and off they go like Jenson Button , doing someone else walk plus their own. Crazy. As people have said, do your job properly and if you have spare time and they want you to absorb, then they sort out transport etc.
