When can you take your break?
Is this something you as an individual can do or can management tell you (and only you) when to take it?

Royal Mail can within certain rules tell you when to take a break, but not where.
They also have to be fair and reasonable and if they are not forcing others to take a break and they are in the same situation as you then they cant be acting in a fair way.

In a nut shell ..Under eec regs . You must at least have a 20 min break within 6 hours of your duty starting time, the rest may be used at the end of your duty, but not at the start!

if they were legally challenged, all they would have to prove is that you do get time for a break.
it's up to you what you do in your break time. (if people want to be mugs and work their break, that's up to them)
There are other welfare issues that come into it, i.e providing a place to eat, sit, means to heat food, hot water... wash cullinary utensils etc but that's another matter.

Well if you work in a delivery office you should at least take some sort of break before you go on delivery
15-20 mins or take all of your allowance as when you are walking all day you need your enrgy which you would get from your food but if you dont have a break you are making more part time jobs with even less hours plus the 20-40 mins of break
you are allowed by law is putting more money into the dom's yearly bonus . The ones who keep missing there break cant finish as early as before plus you will end doing more work anyway so have a break no canteen bring some food in .
