My phone has a GPS tracking feature, that lets me record my route, and view it in Google Earth, it provides me with statistics on walking speed, distance and the like.
I ran this program while I did my walk yesterday, and recorded my whole route, just to see what the results would be, and I discovered that I actually walk seven miles every day, has anyone else tried this?
Other statistics:
Average Walking Speed: 4.4km/h (2.73 Miles/Hour)
Time Taken to complete walk: 3 Hours 15 mins.
Does this seem right to you?

WOW! I've always said that if you're out for 3 hours even at 2mph thats 6 miles. What phone did you use? Please don't tell me it's blooming ap?

Sounds about right. The speed depends on hills etc.
I pedometer mine each day and ave around 20,000 steps which at 48 cm per step is just under 10 km which is about 6 and a bit miles.
Funny enough you can walk quicker but longer around the estates.

Mine is 11 miles, not including the lapsing! My mates either side of me do 9 miles! and, you'd be surprised at how far you walk indoors, so test that too!-

One of the bigger rounds with 770 calls on the estates came in at 11.5 miles but only takes 3 hrs. Its crazy

You can up load a gpx file on to here http://www.bikehike.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and it will show you your tracklog on google maps or ord/sur

Did mine the other day with a Garmin forerunner,
80-85% call rate, came out just under 8 mile(few shortcuts) 3hrs 30min lots of packets Struggled to average 4mph and i think i'm quick!!!!!!
Should of used it yesterday when i had a 95-100% call rate

What happens with a Garmin Forerunner when you enter a block of flats?
Is it like a phone and do you risk losing the signal and consequently any relevant info?
