R u one of these people, (use the term people loosely there), who come in way before their shift time so u can get ahead on ur letters n households n stuff??? Can u explain to me why u work for nothing.... Also why u can't just do ur contracted hours as the rest of us are suffering cos u lot r ready to go quicker cos we don't come in until 6am, however royal mail expect us to be level pegging with u lot

No!!! But sometimes I get paid for nothing sitting in the house with my feet up all done and finished but still getting paid.
I realise I am the only 1 on here that does that

AGAIN these " workers " come on here and complain that they are so hard done to and work work work etc etc and have a hard life and hate their job blah blah BLAH ! !

Its been explained BEFORE and will be explained YET AGAIN ! ! Try and understand .

If I start half an hour early then i finish at least half an hour earlier . EASY ! ! !

Next question if you dont understand THAT ! ! ! !

If your wage depended on you cutting a quota of coal for the day, why would it matter what time you started cutting it.
As long as no-one's H&S was in danger by starting early,what is the problem?

The problem is when HERO decides to leave the business when he's caught by the I.B. with mail in the front of the van & D2D dumped in a skip after driving over a child before school, a new postperson with common sense and does the job properly would be later than HERO out on delivery..........so when RM asks why is new guy slower than HERO he can just say im DOING THE JOB PROPERLY AND KEEPING TO ROYAL MAIL PROCEDURES AND AGREEMENTS.

That has to be the most hysterical (hysteria - not funny) post I've ever seen on RMC.
They start half an hour early to finish half an hour early and now they are dumping mail and killing children.

Most people like to be finished early to enjoy the rest of the day (while they still can)
If people can start early and finish early, why aren't the start times alligned to mail arrivals?
Why make them finish later unnecessarily?

majority of office come in early and all finish early even guys who do job properly finish a bit early every office is different if there was no time to be made people wouldnt bother always been that way

The point which should have been made is that by starting early (let's say 30 minutes), therefore you are more likely to be ready to leave for delivery earlier than those who start at their proper time. The problem arises when management see that some are ready a long time before others, which leads to either, those who start at the correct time being pressured into going faster to be ready to leave at the same time as the ones who come in early, or those who start early get given more work to do.
If it is so important to you to get home half an hour earlier than you should, you need to ask yourself why.
