How long have you been lapsing walks in your DO?

Just curious about the disparity between lapsing "policy" from DO to DO. From glancing at some of the posts in this forum i get the impression that the posties in my DO have been taken for a bit of a ride. In our DO we have at least 10 walks lapsed, each postie takes his bit out EVERYDAY, without exception, regardless of weight, and this has been in operation for every working day since LAST summer (Tell a lie, we had two weeks grace before Christmas). I'm sure a lot of other DO's have the same "policy" as mine, anywhere happen to have it worse? (If that's actually possible!) The irony of doing "Summer" lapsing in 2 feet of snow back in January!

We dont lapse,we got told to go for 4 and a half hours duty and the lapsing will stop

Weve been doing it on most weekdays since last May i think. With no break through the winter. Ive had to refuse a few times because ive run out of time which got black looks fron the dom.

However our rep had a big bust up today over d2d,s and is sure that we will not be able to lapse everyday of the week once we have 6 contracts to deal with.

Time will tell.

Last year 3 duties for 13 weeks of summer (although it ranged from 30 calls for some people to over 80 for others, total idiocy).

This year 1 duty Mon/Tues since March and as of last week 2 duties every day.

How long it will last I dont know, off this week so not sure how its going.

Judging by the responses I have every right to feel a tad cheated! It seems like most others have a slight respite (designated and/or heavy days) or simply don't do it at all!

Never lapsed since end of summer lapsing 2009,September I think it was we must be one of the lucky(strong

)ones,but everything comes to them that waites

can't get my head round all this talk about lapsing,i've never ever done any lapsing and never will!!
keep repeating this but the only reason anyone lapses is BECAUSE THEY CAN!! if everyone did the job to royal mail spec they would not have time to lapse,otherwise your deliveries are to small.

WE LAPSE 3 OR 4 DAYS A WEEK AMMOUNTING TO ABOUT 30 MINS EXTRA DELIVERY,BUT WE OFTEN GET DONE EARLY AND THE MANAGER LETS US GO AS WE ARE HELPING OUT,WE HAVE IT PRETTY CUSHY STILL BUT WORK HARD AND APPEAR TO BE TREATED FAIRLY FOR THAT REASON!!!

we only lapse about 2 or 3 times a month allways a tuesday .main door walk which is split between 10 or 11 of us right on del offices door step 15 mins delivery max.

Its a trap....be warned What if you get a different dom? You will all get shafted You must have really easy walks. Beware......

Unless you work in my DO we have it worse. Been lapsing 8 since last april, everyday without fail. It has now just gone up to 12. Everyone has about another 80 drops, so far, expecting even more with WSM.
