Royal Mail and Changes

Why do Royal Mail feel the need to change things so drastically?
Ok the door to door issue is now in,They are items of mail which we no longer get paid for,It is what the majority (Blind) Voted for
But why all the cuts? Why are 40 hour contracts being replaced by 25 hour contracts? Lapsing of duties,5 in our office and 12 duties also currently van share,Im sure similar cases are all around the country.
The reason i ask is why,After such a great year of profits as last year,Can royal mail not just jig along doing what they were doing last year and be happy? Instead of making lives a misery for hard working men and women,Who the majority of just want to go in,Work their hours and go home,Instead of rushing around from the moment they get in,Not having time to do things properly and causing alot of stress to people who's Jobs are not quite right,But nothing is done to help because it may cost money.
Is this Work anymore? It seems to be turning into Modern Day Slavery,We certainly get spoken to and treated as such by Managers.
Anyway,Rant over and enjoy your week,I finish for 2 1/2 weeks on thursday,2nd baby is due Sad when im thinking about 2 1/2 weeks off when all my thoughts should be on the new addition.

i agree with all that its all cut cut cut for profit when is it gonna stop. on a happy note good luck wi your new addition

The more RM profits, the more the people at the top who come in 1 day a week and do nothing profit. None of these changes are for the good of the company only big bonuses at the end of the year.
