Think it would be a good idea to have a job swap between delivery posties and Mail Centre workers. I for one would put my name down to experience the "other side of the coin" and swap my job for say 6 months+ . I have worked in deliveries for over 20 years and know for a fact that my fellow mail centre workers of similar age and service dont look knackered like me and have the same health , wear and tear problems that i have. Interesting !! It would also be interesting to see the Sick records statistics for delivery staff and mail centre workers, see who comes out worse. Does anyone else agree? :hmmmm

Working at a mail centre just for 5 hours a couple of nights a week during Xmas pressure was enough for me thanks. Stuff that for a lark.

I'm pretty sure they'd feel the same way if the roles were reversed.

I simply could not work full time in a factory setting. Would drive me round the freakin bend.

I know what your saying and anyone would struggle to be suddenly faced with a strenuous and physically active job. However to work for 6 months in a dusty repetitive factory environment would not be for me, no way. :whistle

I like the outdoors and the changes of the seasons and even meeting the customers. :wink:

I find it bad enough to spend 2/3 hours with my managers spying on me so I think I'd go completely 'postal' if I was stuck inside for 8 hours :crazy: :crazy:

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

A notice has gone up in our office asking for volunteers to do overtime in the local MC...............On Sundays !!. Various shifts were on offer, suffice to say there were no reports of anyone being injured in the rush to sign up, :left:
