Is your DO CWU union Rep in bed with the DO managers?

After reading a few interesting posts on here. I thought a poll could be nice to gauge some peoples opinions.

Is your Rep in it to better all the terms and conditions of the staff or just to sort himself out a cushy number.

No, cos we aint got a rep. We do have a forum of 5 of us to see us through these troubled times though. One of which is my good self.

It is a challenging time for Reps for sure ... but I like to think that I will meet the challenge head-on and bring members along with me. There are so many unknowns and variables yet to come out of IWT/Geo-Route, that Reps need the support of members to keep previously proposed 'efficiency' and 'budget' elements in check. In a number of local DOs managers are trying to press on with business plan budgets ahead of non-walk-sequenced revisions, allowing scope for further cuts in hours/duties when Office Revisions do take place. More than ever, Reps and members need to show solidarity at this time to thwart RM.

My DOM wants more staff, not savings. However his DSM is taking note that posties are going home early across his sector so therefore phase 3 can come into play.

I just hope he dosent pay a vist to my D.O and sees the time being made, sadly my mbrs wont stop making time as they see it as thier J anf F and consider it immoral for mangers to dare even think about touching it.

We're in a simular boat here, we have people using cars running around and then moaning when lapsing gets mentioned, we're trying to make everyone realise that J&F is finished and to get used to working all hours, but its like talking to pork, wait until the WS machines come in, looks as though we'll be starting at 0730-0800 - not good.
Of course those of us who try and do the job correctly and finish on time are the lazy part of the office, I suppose that what happens when you've been there a good few years and you're a lot older and a little wiser.
The quicker the runners have the cars banned and they get it in to their heads that you've only got to work 8 hours the easier life in the office should be for all OPG's.

Working your hours is simply a smokescreen,getting more work out of members too stupid to realise that they are being taken for mugs is really what this is about.

Had the same speach from DOM about lapsing today! The cherry is job and knock is on (his words not mine!) if you do your "small" bit of lapsing! Our Rep will be cutting off the lapsing as will many but still the flyers will break the LAW and RMs own delivery policy on safe deliveries to buy maybe a quarter of an hour extra at home but LOSE THEIR JOB when it all goes tits up because they misplace a regi damage a car parked on the driveway or knock someone with their bike or trolly! Now what to do? What to do? Oh and for the flyers here THEY DO TAKE NOTES! And COME A REVISION WILL BE BACK FOR MORE!!!!!!!!!! Flyers enjoy your future because the cuts start with YOU!

Sounds an interesting concept. Would certainly weed out the reps that look after their pals.

Ha ha our rep is the managers son ... recently told us our unpaid bank holidays were being looked at by Sheffield for the past 8 months so I rang them and they new nothing about it . He went sick the day before the strikes started and now he's getting 10 hrs nightshift overtime on a Saturday night even though he hasn't worked nights for a few years but get this, he still gets his night allowance .. top that boys and girls

to be honest we dont , cant tell my manager thats his dad, cant tell the mcm as these two have been dealing with this bank holiday fiasco and fibbing to us , the whole nightshift has worked bank holiday monday nights since 2004 without a day off in lieu , they owe us anywhere between 2 and 28 days each, the rep says he still gets his full nightshift allowance after 3 years on days .. just who do you tell this to, i cant wait till this place closes to be honest , s**t company nowadays and i'll be glad to leave.

ps this is processing not deliveries.
