are you not wanting to start earlier?
if so tell them you cant come in earlier than your contracted hours

Are they wanting you to work 7-12 or 7-2 on Saturdays? Remember to claim ot if you are doing over 5 hours - we do not work for free!

The 9 oclock PTers in my place always come in at 7 on a saturday.

pt ,rs cut their own throats in our office
start before ft hours ie 5am for nothing in the hope the lm gives them some ot later
union are aware of these practises and do nothing although they manipulate ft staff due to extra work done for free
one does 3.5 - 4hrs buckshee for nothing every day and works every day off so equates to 20 hrs per week
thats a pt or pt- ft job being done away with
the pt,er then goes and covers full duty outdoor and del mail until 7pm at night on ot

When I say the 9 o clock PTers come in at 7, thats actually their start time on a saturday, so theyre in line with the same finish time as the rest of us.

Everyone is paid to come in early on Saturdays to throw off their own rounds in my DO.

Guranteed if you look at your contract theres no time on it, just your that your a 6hr contract.

Part timers should of a saturday go on the sorting as most a/gs are on the same finish time as a f/t ,its only fair.

Go on sorting 06.30 6 hr contracts go on straight away 5.5 hr contracts 30 mins later 5hr 1 hr later simples.

If you never go on the soring how in the future are any a/gs going to pass the sorting test ,under this new agreement R/M are raising the standards and will be doing more tests. We cant have a situation were its only F/T workers who are ever tested its victimisation.

part timers dont do ips full timer gets 8hrs a day part time either six or five and u think its fair that they do the same work as a full timer for two to three hours less

IPS is sometimes finished when i go in at 6.45 am.

Our p/t staff always come in before thier time for free throw their walks off run around like headless chickens,there is only 2 that i can think of that just come in on thier time and leave work behind,they should have full timers throwing walks off because they tell us there is no mail to sort,back in the real world the benches have as much on as before so the staff have to work on IPS,then the sick leave is high this year where staff are having accidents because they are rushing,oh and staff are on leave so there is not enough of us here anyway so the part time staff come in and never claim for it,how mad is that,before you say it,whats the rep doing about it,tried to tell the staff we dont work for free and they still come in,told the managers that the staff should come in on thier times if not should be paid they walked away laughing,they dont care as long as they can drink thier coffee and play on the computers they just pretend it's not happening.

I'm a part timer and can't quite understand this post. By the time it gets to Saturday, I have already worked X amount of my 32 hours (say 25 for arguments sake) leaving me with 7 hours left. If my manager wants me to work 9 hours, I would say "how much are you going to pay me for the extra 2?" I normally ask for SA rate and bargain down from there. I usually get a negative response which suits me fine

I work 32 hours a week and what they ask me to do per day is up to them, I don't care whether thats IPS sorting, walking whatever.... I just do my job, work to my time and go home. Easy
