Brass badges

Anyone know who made the last type of brass badge to be issues, some scroat stole my stormproof off my frame and it had my last brass name badge on. My other one snagged on something and fell off years ago.

I remember them badges, we use to wear them on our peaked caps

Mine is still in the plastic bag that it came in all them years ago.Been in my garage for the last 10 years or so .Due to be shown on antiques roadshow 2079.

I have one in a box somewhere and the other one is on my thermal coat, remember those, the ones with the detatchable arms. They were the canines gonads, wish they still dished those out rather that the crap fleeces we get now.

They were indeed.I reckon they were the best bit of kit we ever had. When they changed the uniform many moons ago there were 2 yorkies of new unissued stuff in the office. I went through them and took out 3 thermal coats which were my size.The final one was on it's last legs with more holes than material and no lining when they offered me VR.

As there was no more thermal jackets I took it

Yeah they were great coats esp the ones with the ribbed wool collars that did up under your chin in the winter.

Mine is still in fairly good nick, i think just the stitching is coming away on the zip.

I also have, still in the wrapper a couple of the old style thin shirts. I also have 1 short and one long sleeve that I occasionally bring out the wardrobe and wear for old times sake.

Sometimes I wear odd socks.
