New starters Bonus????

I started with RM on 18/01/10 as a postman.
I was expecting the bonus along with everyone else on the 07/05/10.
I've not received this and upon questioning my manager he said its because I started after 01/01/10. Is this correct, does anybody know. If i'm not entitled to the money its fine just dont want to be fiddled.
Any advice grateful.

well its debatable to be honest, the agreement states all employees but royal mail and the union have decided that they didnt mean that at all. they are scum

Yes I'm afraid it's normally after the probationary period IIRC. I could be wrong tho.

Again, someone else who could have voted a yes in the hope of getting this carrot only not to get it.

This is getting ridiculous, it feels like RM and the CWU are screwing everyone possible to not pay the £400 which I know was a key factor in a few people I know voting yes, is there anything we can do about it? Or are we just going to be told 'it's always been that way' by the old-timers, DM's and FT's?

Then more people should be putting their pens to paper or in modern terms emailing those responsible. You hear a lot of talk on forums like this, but there are a lot of people who don't want to stir the hornet's nest. The more people who do complain about this the more chance there is of being something done about it

I agree money was not mine but even on here some first posts asked "When are we getting the money"

No, never, for me anyway and that's why I voted no.

Regarding the bribe, maybe they should have just held on for their colleague share money [which would have been] due in June - £400. (If they joined before end 2007). Short slightness I am afraid and it resulted in the rest of the workplace getting mugged. Most people will end up giving royal mail the £400 back by the end of next year in lost revenue through D2D's.

Money is probably all gone now anyway, now bring the pain.

There's one guy in particular who I know voted Yes purely because of the £400 because he only started last year at the same time as me so he would have got nothing from Colleague Shares, he would have been shafted from the eventual agreement and got nothing at all out of it! Better for him to get 2 weeks wages now rather than nothing later?
