Re: d2d & more hours
for starters most door to doors are not that easy to prep.
they dot handle as easily as they should so can be tough to do second per item.
then take into account the frame.
top row is gonna give you arm ache.....and be slower to prep than say the second botton row.
i would say a fair rate is 1 every 2 seconds....but obviously royal mail will start much lower and try to bargain.
imo its time for the union to now earn their $$$ otherwise what realy is the point of paying them??

The indoor workload figures are already on the forum, here is an extract
Planning the introduction of Door to Door into workload wrote:
Approach to be used in planning
• Please note that whilst D2D workload will be planned on the basis of spreading it across six days a week delivery employees will have the ability to manage the delivery of the items themselves on the proviso that all items are delivered and the delivery specification is not affected
• Prep 1/6th into the frame each day starting from Monday and deliver 1/6th each day
• Whilst this will involve cold calling at any address point for which there are no other items it is the best approach overall as it is easier to understand and communicate
• The following planning times (for prep) per 500 delivery point route are included in the Indoor Workload Tool (IWT v6) to assist indoor planning:
1 contract 4 mins per day
2 contracts 8 mins per day
3 contracts 10 mins per day
4 contracts 11 mins per day
5 contracts 12 mins per day
6 contracts 14 mins per day

Re: d2d & more hours
Looking at the above figures it gives you about 1 item every 2.3 to 2.8 seconds to throw into the frame, unless the time allowed includes lifting the D2D and cutting the plastic ties and then tidying away again afterwards, in which case in would considerably reduce the actual time you will get to rep the D2Ds. these figures are going to be used to plan your new walks so make sure they are included if you get the chance to have a say.

Re: d2d & more hours
Ok, ta, I missed that. This has probably been explained before but can anybody enlighten me as to why the time allowed doesn't increase at the same rate as the workload?DGP1 wrote:Postman put up a download a few days ago and they where in that.numan wrote:Mr Hil, where are those figures from?

Re: d2d & more hours
1 every 2 seconds? Considering they are to be the last item prepped into a fully loaded frame, those times are nothing short of ridiculous and nowhere near achievable.numan wrote:Ok, ta, I missed that. That's so obvious numan the collective intellegence of RM management and planning believe when you get to 3 items or more you should merge them and then prep them and this should take less time.
It would be feckin hilarious if it wasn't for the fact that it's.......true....not that it takes less time just that they think that

I don't think those figures have been agreed.numan wrote:Mr Hil, where are those figures from?

So it's zero time for merging then, any response from our paid representatives?

Postman put up a couple of documents that I believe came from some working parties or committees held earlier this year, as far as i know they are unagreed but will probably form the basis of any planning that will be starting soon.
See hear for the D2d dochttp://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 42&t=26472
And here for the delivery design doc.http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 42&t=26473
