my office was visited by Area rep last wek and were told that D2D could only be certain % everyday and no way would companies pick what day we deliver them.
I commented what my beliefs were, that this was garbage and they could pick a day,was then told dont believe everything you read on RMC.
What can we do to get Area rep reprimanded for this ? He told an office of 40 staff lies to get them to vote yes.
Dont know how many he convinced though ?
he also said he doesnt expect starting and finishing times to change much and that we wouldnt be working til 3pm on a Saturday ???

From the agreement page 21Both parties also recognise that in addition to growth in the core D2D product further commercial opportunities are likely to exist particularly for named/specific day(s) products and/or Saturdays which may provide Royal Mail with additional scope for increased revenue.

So at the moment they don't exist. Depending on price and demand they might in the future.
If such a product did exist then surely we would already be getting as lot of fliers through our doors on Saturdays from other providers of this service.
This week I got a Crazy Wok leaflet on Tuesday and a tanning salon leaflet on Thursday - these are separate from the 3 my postie delivered - but none on Saturday.
If delivering leaflets on a Saturday is so much more effective will the fact that I delivered my Green Party election leaflets on Saturday mean they have an unfair advantage now in the General Election?

The majority of leaflets that come through my letter box are at weekends, infact just had my first one of the day

Our area rep told our office almost the same thing, that day specific D2D cannot happen as all D2D items must be in your delivery office by the monday to complete by saturday. If they arrived later than monday then a claim for a payment could be made or you could just say no to doing the items that came in late.
The whole office questioned this and mentioned things like Easter bank holday monday were a certain major furniture store starts it never ending sale.
Or Christmas Eve with sales starting on boxing day, mothering sunday, fathers day the list goes on and on.
We also raised concerns over the uncapped issue of D2D, he said that "HE" didnt think we would get any more than we are now, if thats right why set it as uncapped why not just raise the number to say 5 max.
In the last few weeks leading up to the ballot it has been mentioned on others threads that the number of D2D items seems to have fallen in a lot of offices from 3 to just 1, is this Royal Mail holding them back until a YES vote comes in then they unleash a tidal wave of 6,7 8 or more.

I have had one D2D in the last two weeks,i normally get 3,now i'm not normally one for conspiracy theories but.............
Also with the regards of 'some' area reps comments,it is looking that they either do not have a clue or are trying to pull a fast one.

What's an area rep? Firstly I voted yes to this agreement cos I see no other way? Back to the area rep.Is there such a thing? Been paying for some 25 years now and only seen someone when they want us to strike? No interest is an understatement.
But, we need them there (Ithink) Aw s**t ok They are in bed with management, no better. All they do is look after themselves and their cushy numbers. We are dropped on from a great height most of the time. But this time I think they have got it right.
Don't gave a shi* about the amount of DTD Go to 99% of delivery points every day anyway. What does puzzle me though is the constant pile of crap about volumes being down. At least where I am that is complete lies. Though I do see in trays of flats? Letters and plenty of them too. Does that help keep the count down? I don't know. And as for giving us the tools to do the job! I can't get shoes from them.
