how long have people with temp contracts stayed on a temp? and how long before they have to make you perm?

no it was advetised as permanent full time 40 hours.

Have a word with the manager then and if no joy, put in a grievance.

I don't suppose you got a copy of the advertisement did you?

Perhaps get a copy of that before you ask the manager about the fact that you've only been put on a temp contract.

Very surprised you've got a full time contract though. I've changed offices temporarily and they've not upped my contract even though it means me booking pressure overtime every day...

yeah its very lucky. they decided that they had to replace the driver leaving and it would be full time. anyone welcome to apply. nobody wants to drive in our office so i went for it and got it.

i dont have the advertisement no. was in january. been waiting since then for everything to go through been slowwwww.

tell them to shove it and threaten to go back to your 20 hours...goods not as described.

Arent there employment laws regarding this?

i need 40 hours though lol i dont wanna go back to 20 hours if i threaten that they will just say fine ok go back to 20 hours.

Temporary contracts known as spec events are pending an instance like a review. They are for a minuim of twelve weeks. They used to say that after two years if the work was needed then they should look at making the post permanent. So in this climate not looking good unless the pay deal goes in and this falls under the national 75% 25% full time to part time ratio.
