We are still getting the pence per item set up at the moment, the 20.60 will take over as and when pence per item creases

Here is my thoughts for what it is worth.

I am sure we have been told on this site that the delivery supplement does not replace the d2d payments it is a new payment nothing to do with d2d.

If this is the case surely it will be backdated (new payment payed 52 weeks of year !).

WHY NOT ? .

The simple answer is why would Royal Mail pay you twice for doing the same work. On one hand indivduals will still recieve their shift allowances which is pensionable and will still get the unit payment on door to door.

If Royal mail backdate the £20.60 sum then they are paying you twice.

The pay rise will be back dated and of course the £400 lump sum will be paid on the acceptance of the agreement.

We have been told the del supplement does have nothing to do with d2d which is it.

And again "the new delivery supplement will be paid 52 weeks of year" was that misleading us.

No not misleading the fact is that until the agreement has been endorsed then the reality is that there is no supplement and door to door is not in workload. The new supplement is not linked to door to door in the future as everyone in the delivery office will recieve it and it will be paid to 52 weeks per year and is a permanent supplement to basic pay.

The confusiong is that the supplement has been funded by 52 million of door to door money and £40 million of early shift allowance which was linked to pay simplification

The supplement starts the first friday I would have thought after a yes vote, it s funded by DTD money which is still being used for pence per item as ballot has not completed yet. To backdate would mean new funds and the supplement is 100% current funds.

Once the supplement starts it will be paid week in week out including annual leave sick leave and xmas, that is what is meant by 52 weeks.

The supplement link with DTD is that the total amount of money used on DTD and ESA is being redployed into a supplement.

So if the agreements gets voted in, the supplement begins straight away? So even though we've had no revision in our office and it won't begin till June and the our walk sequenced mail won't be ready till the middle of 2011 we shall have to do D2DS as normal in your own time but for the supplement and not per item ?? Well as i look on it they can't work them into your workload until the revision and the walk sequencing is ready?? So we refuse to do them in our own time as it's now part of our workload if this gooseberry of a deals gets voted in? If that happens then there will be mail left every single day in our office.

i cover phg duty 1 day a week have asked if i get a reduction in d2d cos i got 1 get day less a week to deliver em.
As usual am met with a shrug and "dont know".
I was a PHG but now back on walk and believe me i prefer it lot less hassle, but this is just another example of why it will get voted in whatever.Too many people are gonna see pound signs( lump sum) and money for work they havent got to do.
Well just see a couple of years down line when d2ds are addressed and sent out that way by companies,walk sequencing kicks in properly and mail centre staff start getting culled like seals.
