WHERE THE HELL IS DAVE JOYCE?
Dave Joyce the man a few posters have previously called our saviour seems to have gone missing in action.
Has Ward and Hayes sent him on a fact finding mission to outer mongolia while they rip up our terms and conditions?
As an H&S rep i wonder what Mr Joyce has to say about 5 hour delivery spans as suggested by our area rep today and furthermore unrestricted delivery spans as the agreement states.
In the blueprint for new deliveries H&S was at the centre of all new delivery models, with the proposed new agreement i might as well pack it in.

Re: WHERE THE HELL IS DAVE JOYCE?
Why would anyone agree to 5 hour delivery spans, just because of what of what an ADR says?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You may not get the option of agreeing in the future.POSTMAN wrote:Why would anyone agree to 5 hour delivery spans, just because of what of what an ADR says?

Why not,an ADR can advise but they can't force.belle smith wrote:You may not get the option of agreeing in the future.POSTMAN wrote:Why would anyone agree to 5 hour delivery spans, just because of what of what an ADR says?

Thats right, Royal Mail can with EA though, and if they did that locally, unlike now they wouldn't be breaking a national agreement.POSTMAN wrote:Why not,an ADR can advise but they can't force.belle smith wrote:You may not get the option of agreeing in the future.POSTMAN wrote:Why would anyone agree to 5 hour delivery spans, just because of what of what an ADR says?
I know that the agreement says that delivery spans will be agreed locally, that doesn't mean that you do that once, and then thats them agreed for evermore.
Or i should say there is nothing in the agreement preventing this. btw, you could always agree diffrent/longer delivery spans locally.

Re: WHERE THE HELL IS DAVE JOYCE?
The last time something of this magnitude hit the CWU (re John Keggie and MCs) what happened.........OUT YOU GO JOHNNY BOY...Is the same going to happen to BIG DAVE?
A lot of delivery guys,of which there is more than MC workers are not going to accept this deal and when the deal Keggie brokered came out it was the death of him...where is he now, sailing his yacht of the Scottish coast no doubt

And don't forget that under the terms of this new deal that any disputes arising from EA should now be resolved locallybelle smith wrote:Thats right, Royal Mail can with EA though, and if they did that locally, unlike now they wouldn't be breaking a national agreement.POSTMAN wrote:Why not,an ADR can advise but they can't force.belle smith wrote:You may not get the option of agreeing in the future.POSTMAN wrote:Why would anyone agree to 5 hour delivery spans, just because of what of what an ADR says?![]()

As much as i deffo don't trust RM,i really can't see 5hr CDV walks, then packets, reg and tracked being forced in through EA.

Its dosnt have to be forced in.Its in the agreement-no max delivery span.In the next couple of years im sure we can avoid it until indoor work dictates that delivery has to be increased.POSTMAN wrote:As much as i deffo don't trust RM,i really can't see 5hr CDV walks, then packets, reg and tracked being forced in through EA.
Meantime for part timers in our office to get full time hours they would have to except a five hour walk.

Probably around the time these much talked about D2Ds in 1 envelope arrive.
I can hear the "to protect full-time jobs you will need to increase outdoor workload again" argument already.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

The only argument I want to hear at that point is SWW, 35 hour week remains CWU policy so should continue to be pursued.

Judging by the pace it's taken them to get 1 hr taken off the working week, how long do you think it'll take them to get the other 4 hrs removed Daz?
