The only thing I see as well ,after the Managers Laughter at us,RM will go into melt down,with all these cuts ,later start times ,more mail centers being closed,
mail travelling huge distances to be collected and delivered,Regardless of CWU some of us beleive RM is heading for meltdown.

In my D.O . there are 40 dutys, only 2 of us come on this site,we tell everyone to log into RMC to find out what is happening but they never do.If this same thing is happening around the country,when it comes to vote if your area recomends a yes vote then i fear that is what will happen nationaly.

Problem is RM CAN stick to the agreement and still screw us into the ground because the agreement is so vague and DOES NOT lay down the rules. It's not an agreement it's just a set of guidlines which can be interpreted any way your DOM likes. For example nothing says 'Walk speeds must be set at 2mph, call rate must be set at so and so percent, 1 in 4 Saturdays must be allowed to any delivery worker requesting them'. It's all put like 'this is an aim and we are commited to so and so' - that can all be ignored by DOMs. But the bits about unlimited d2ds and much longer deliveries are clear as day. Totally stuffed if the Vote goes through.

IF there is a massive influx of D2D then we will have to be given the time to prep and deliver them.
More work in your DO means more resources needed.
If the time isn't allocated then the quality of service will not be there and we will lose more D2D contracts but still keep the supplement.

Pressure from managers.
D2D off home in the boot of your car and prepped during eastenders.
People coming in early to prep their D2D.

We can all throw our hands up and say that's terrible but that is the REALITY of the situation.

If mugs wish to do that then let them, their choice.. The agreement states 'in work time', so that is all you have to wave under the managers nose, let them apply pressure all they want - they can't sack you for sticking to their agreement (and if they did, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on)

As it stands I do a small percentage of D2D work in my own time; come in 5-10minutes early perhaps, never take them home - that's a big no-no, work over my time say 5-10minutes when doing a high percentage in one day and don't book, because I know I'm getting extra pennies it doesn't bother me. No payment means I will do all work in work time, no ifs, no buts.

Yes the ageement states "in work time" but it fails to state how many or just how long you get to do them so when they go into workload just how long will it take before people start to struggle to perform in the top 10% bracket and decide to take a few home just to give themselves a head start.Or just come in 5,10,15 minutes early just to save being hassled.
This union is supposed to protect the weak and the strong and "mugs" or not they pay their dues and should not be left exposed by an agreement that promises the world and delivers feck all.
Like i said i like to deal in REALITIES not how the CWU would like it to be.

If you like to deal in reality then why don't you face the reality that the union has failed to protect it's members for many, many years. 2007? SDD? etc - you get the picture, every time we are left open and not protected by the union, this agreement is no different to any that has gone before it, that is the reality..

Whether you vote yes or no this reality will not change. Wholesale clearance of reps and top brass in the union might help matters, but that's a very long and hard road to follow.
