They don't meet until the middle of next week to decide, i was a rep for the meeting in 2007 and it was very heated and a close vote, it was a yes then, i can see a no this time.

my rep told me today that the Wolverhampton area branch met yesterday, and they had returned a yes vote
he has his meeting next week along with the other DO reps.

He told me that the deal has got its good points but he can not get past page 5 he will never trust the managers

I'm a member of Gwent AMAL branch and I'm absolutely fuming! We've had precious little information on this deal (other than that which I've personally taken the time to supply to my colleagues), and NO CONSULTATION! It seems that the local Politburo have fallen victim to Dave 'look into my eyes, not around the eyes...' Ward and his team of brainwashers at their hastily cobbled together Farewell Roadshow (at least I hope it's a 'farewell'). Are other branches falling victim to the well known mushroom effect? (Keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em bullsh*t!)? Hopefully, the rank and file members in Gwent will recognise the whiff and make up their own minds on the issue.

Ask your local rep about the meeting, ours came in the next day and told us that a vote of the local reps was held and that they voted to recommend the agreement. It was not a unanimous vote but a majority never the less.

Yes, I phoned our rep after the 'presentation'.... He's a well meaning, bright and honourable chap - but unfortunately susceptible to the timeshare selling sales pitch employed by the careerist politicians of the PEC... as, it seems, are the majority of CWU reps in Gwent. He's going to be giving us his take on '2010 and Beyond' during WTL on Tuesday (Hmm, strange that, the management have never been enthusiastic about allowing the CWU a platform during work hours before now ).

My big beef is with the fact that, given the life altering implications of this 'agreement', there was no information/discussion/consultation about it on the delivery office floor. How is anyone supposed to make an educated choice in the forthcoming ballot, without hearing both sides of the argument? What gives OUR reps, OUR branch, and OUR UNION the right to try and railroad this travesty upon us, without a period of full consultation with the membership?

Frankly, I need help! I have my own opinions regarding '2010 and Beyond F***ing Belief', but would appreciate some help in putting forward a coherent counter argument this Tuesday - Hopefully, someone out there in RoyalMailChat can PM me so that I've got sufficient ammunition to shoot this rotten rowboat clean out of the water!

Your branch should be sorting out members meetings, so question on the agreement can asked and discussed. Get hold of your rep/branch sec and demand something to be done if no joy take it further.

Essex amal advocating a Yes Vote , but our office are split and having explained a few more things to them that are unaware of more are leaning to no vote
