A couple of Saturdays ago we had 14 deliveries not covered.

Can't wait to see how they're going to give everyone 1 in 4 off !!!!

So what about those who have a week off every six, are they going to be forced to change, our DIM is saying he can't have a quarter of his staff off every saturday, so looks like we won't be getting it either except those on one in six or nine day fortnights, maybe.

No problem, the 1 in 4 Sat off is a locally arranged issue. If DOM says no then no it is so expect 3pm finish every sat.

Do you mean by that DOM's can't ignore the agreement and so have to give us 1 in 4 off? If so show us the bit in the agreement which says 'All delivery staff will get 1 in 4 Sats off if so desired'. There are vague aims and commitments to 1 in 4 over the transition period (which may last a few months). Other than that 1 in 4 is a pipe dream and a localally agreed issue only. So DOM has final say.

Where have you been for the last two years? An agreement is an agreement? - it is as long as it suits RM then it's EA all the way baby. Then of course there is THIS agreement, just read the wording RM have the final say on what will and will not be agreed locally and if you can't facilitate 1 in 4 Saturdays then you won't get it - end of. Do you seriously think the CWU is going to go to war over a Saturday issue, especially when this agreement specifically states that local issue have to be negotiated locally and only in extreme circumstances should they be passed up the line.

There is no way that what people think is going to happen will happen. What makes this deal even worse is that the last one was for two years and it took almost 3 years to get to this stage - so how long would this abomination last, 4 years 5?

1st i'm not a yes or a no voter at the mo,just thought i'd put that in the mix.

Apart form nationwide exec act (Later start times 07) and divisional exec act (loss of 4 day weeks london,which is very near to being resolved)RM have NOT broken 1 single agreement in my office.

If the agreement gets voted in,and there's something we want from it,we'll get it.

Maybe i'll eat my words one day,and you'll do the i told you so routine,but lets wait and see.

I admire your offices resolve in getting what you want, but as many of us saw on C4's Despatches theres an awful lot of difference between big city offices and the smaller rural ones that a large proportion of us work in, so I am cannot share your optimism, for us National Agreements were our only weapon, I'm afraid local agrreements just mean we get what RM want. So glad I have only have 5 years to go, maybe less if EVR is favourable to me before then. I know what you will say about becoming a rep, it's pointless as most of our office toe the RM line, although to be fair to them even a few of them are voting no this time, as even they cant stomach a pay cut (although some even seem to be prepared to take that).
