From scouring the forums, it has made me think the RM do not expect this deal to be accepted. As with all great hagglers have they merely offered the worst possible deal so they can backtrack later on and make us all feel grateful?

Lets face it, right now if they were to turn around and say "ok we won't mess with the D2D's, we will leave them as they are to make you all happy" how many people would see this as a victory.... forgetting the fact that the D2D rate hasn't been increased in decades?

Simlar to the absorbtion they brought in. Everybody working the absortion for nothing then when you have a heavy day and they cancel the absortion and everyone is happy?

Seems like good negotiating on the managements side , just need to get better negotiators on the workers side

We all went on strike last year and for what? The union to negotiate a deal that gives us unlimited d2d's with limited reward and longer saturdays, great negotiating, crozier, leighton and mandelson must be sitting round a table somewhere drinking the finest brandy whilst raising a toast to the incompetence of the CWU, thanks for nothing dave and billy

They are nogatiating for RM.

It's a good question. Is this a primer agreement that RM expect to be rejected which will pave the way for the genuine one which is less unacceptable but still a poor one? I'd say no. That course would lead to too much bad press when the NO vote goes through. The muppets actually think they will get a Yes vote on this
