the deal?
is it on or off?
how are we to know
we aren't cos despite us being in the communication workers union we don't get alot of communication do we?
the truth????
any postie will take a lump sum up front compared to a lump sum that is connected to conditions or targets as we all have had enough of working ourselves to death and still not meeting the ever moving targets of RM
in my office we have had enough if they can't agree a deal then give it to us to decide, how long has it been?
don't think you know what is good for us
we will decide
from my chats unless there is at least £45 on basic pay and a real good carrot ( or two or three) then the answer is no
live up to your name
communicate!!!!!!

Yes, at this moment in time they do.
However CS has been part of the talks, so change may well be on the cards. CWU would idealy like that money put into basic pay. That has been their stance since day 1

Re: the deal?
Agree with you Fishtank. It worries me more what I will be expected to do for any financial carrot. Any extension of delivery hours will play right into Royal Mails plans of getting rid of experienced posties in order to achieve a work force earning minimum wages. It plays right into their sickness stage warnings/sack, because additional hours on delivery can only mean more physical problems for posties, more time out, despite their claims to take weight off the shoulders. Do they not realise that we have two legs as well as shoulders, that take most of the stress. Ill happily stay on current pay rather than put my body under any further stress than it already gets. I dont think Dingo and others that are advocating that this is the only way we can keep full time jobs, really understand that pay is not the major criteria for many of us. Health must always override wealth. You cannot care for your families if you are 6ft under the ground.

No its RM Group money which they choose to share with everyone from the Chairman and CEO down to us mere frontline mortals in RML, POL and Parcleforce. To get this money RM GROUP has to meet financial targets. CWU wish to do away with this and ensure the money is given to us regardless and ever since CS came to be policy was get it into basic pay.
So what do the members want? A lump sum once a year subject to meeting financial targets beyond their control which are met by obscene cost cutting or have that money put onto basic pay?

Are we talking about the yearly "dividends" or the final share value?Big Daz wrote:

It is not for me or you Daz to decide what the members want,i will leave HQ to make those assumptions.
What i would guess Daz is that the membership does not want to finance it's own "Deal of the century""biggest pay rise ever".
This will be one of the major issues of the new agreement.
Sorting out new money from old.

Re: the deal?
i was wondering whether in the future there will be cases where people can sue royal mail for health problems caused by forced overwork. i don't believe they've really looked into this properly. they're treating it as tho it were something like factory work, but it's far more challenging on the body than that, and not comparable at all.

I wasnt suggesting it was for you or I to decide, however as members of the CWU who wil be voting on the any set of proposals that may emerge, we can state our preferences can we not? My preference is for all CS money to go into basic pay, so it is there in our pay week after week, month after month year after year. That would mean over time we would catch up with all the CS money AND overtake it. In the long term we are better off!!!!!
CS money is finite, Basic pay isnt.
You are 100% spot on with the new/old money statement, CWU policy is pay restructuring as well as payrise and members need to rember that.

It is also discretionary. Hands up who can think of a firm that is well known for moving the goal posts;has major problems coming up with accurate figures;employs managers with a track record of fiddling the system to boost bonus payments; has a big problem with its reputation regarding trust and transparency.
The cheques in the post ,honest
