Nah , he was eating one of the DOMs hob nobs at the time so he couldnt speak

Apparently each round is about 700 drops yet hes getting a CWU round with 300 drops ,and seeing as we only have 29 rounds you can imagine how often hes in the office for union stuff - maybe once a month , and also hes about number 40 on the seniority list but will get the best round - so you can understand why he doesnt complain too much

I am not a rep but surely having a "CWU" walk is wrong in principle. Its like a bribe, if you don't do a full duty how do you know how it will affect your members. OK get release and everything but you should not have a shorter round just so you can do Union stuff. It basically affects your judgement and impartiality .

OK if he has a small round but has other non union duties that he does during his working day, that would be OK as we have an office wallah he does exactly that. But anything else is questionable.

IF the office is not happy with the Union rep find out about standing against him,he should have time taken of his delivery if he is in the office sorting things out for you all but not every day!

I would say that is normal,a good respected rep should not get any hassle for that.

No, you do you get it, you CANT have a REP, WITHOUT JOINING THE UNION!

If you do not have a rep, AND (and that's the important bit) you ARE in the union you go directly to AREA level. Hell, why not become a rep? You'll allegedly get a cushy walk for your troubles.

And it's a win, win scenario, either someone will run against you and you'll have your REP, or you'll be the REP!

Then demand your 'walk test'.

You whine about not having a rep, but wont join the union. You complain your branch has no rep but will not run for it. You moan you have the longest walk in the office but cant be arsed to do anything about it?

He does all his rep stuff when he should be on IPS . He was the only one who wanted the gig after our last rep quit climing the DOM was unethical and wouldnt listen to reason. If we dont have him we dont have no one.

19 days out of every 20 he`ll take his 300 drops and be done for 1030 ! He goes out early on Saturdays too whilst the rest of us are made to stay until every other round has been chucked in - which is cack considering we have about 38 walks and about 16 full time staff - you can imagine the carnage !

I've been rep at our office for a while now because nobody else wants to do it and now i know where i've been going wrong. My walks no differnt to anyone else's, yes i off the IPS but with the increase in mech bundles we spend less time on the IPS then in the past yet the workload for a rep has increased. I can't speak for all reps but if you really want to have a say in what goes on in your office then as rep you can find yourself getting very tied up in how things are done ,duties allocated for the week, making sure our members don't get stitched up as a result i find myself nearly always last person out on delivery.
The question i have is it common for reps to have a walk with less drops because its come to the stage where being a delivery postman and trying to be a good rep takes alot of doing as things are now and what we all now will be a very difficult future. In my area many offices have no reps but thats the first place we turn to when were in trouble, i fear a future when the majority of offices don't have reps and with first hand experience i can understand why.
