ok to cut?

Post by el_cartero »

My walk is meant to be 3.5 hours but in reality its 4.5 hours.
if they was to increase my contract with this extra hour per day id happily do the work.
but no chance im working extra every day when some people are home alot earlier!
id rather get my basic pay and be done with it.

im just past my 6 months now before id do the work 4.5hr and claim docket.

but now im just going to start cutting - should i inform my manager.

nothing he can do right? im past my 6 months probation period
one day part timers will have the same right as full timers

You have to inform him "at the earliest opportunity" I think the official document states.

Where an employee feels he/she may experience difficulty in completing his/her delivery within the remaining duty time, he/she should approach his/her manager during preparation of the walk.
Where an employee feels that on completion of preparation he/she may experience difficulty in completing his/her delivery within the authorised time allotted, he/she should approach his/her manager as soon as possible before setting out on delivery. It will be for the manager to discuss any problem and advise the employee what particular action should be taken.

Doesn't matter if you've been there 6 months or 6 days, just follow procedure. Tell him you won't be able to work overtime, what should you do?

Sorry if this appears condescending its not meant to be, but ultimately as an adult the choice is yours.

You look at a situation weigh up the consequences and outcomes of all possible actions, garner advice from those more knowledgeable and experienced, apply that to your own individual circumstances and then make a decision.

Anyone can tell you what they would do in your situation, but you are the only actually experiencing it and as in everything you have only 2 choices.

1. Let things go on as they are and suffer in silence.
2. Make a decision to change things and take action.

Choice 1 means that the stress and discomfort will continue for the foreseeable future. Choice 2 will mean a sudden and sharp increase in stress levels, but it will only happen for a short time and then you can move on with your life even if the worst does happen.

The probation (or trial period) is six months. Employment law protection kicks in at 12 months.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one
