Pensions not sure you'll need to contact the Pension people as its very complicated. All though it you leave between 6 months and 24 months I know they can give you your contributions back, on being sacked though not sure.

The Colleagueshare's is, I am afraid its a NO. ftp://ftp.royalmail.com/Downloads/publi ... ochure.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
leave before four years are up?

Anyone who is dismissed or who resigns will lose their
ColleagueShares.

If, however, you are made redundant, retire or take ill
health retirement, or if your business is transferred
out of the Company then, provided you have had the
ColleagueShares for at least one year we will buy them
from you at their current valuation. So, we would look
back at the most recent valuation and buy them back
from you at that price. In the unfortunate event of
anyone who has held ColleagueShares for at least one
year dying, we would pay the money to their estate on
the same basis.

Just rang them, was informed that you dont get your contributions back if you have paid in 2 years or more. Chap said he thinks that it was 5 years in the early 1980's. He said you can get your pension from aged 55 RM wise.

Also you do keep yr pension if you have been dismissed. He did say if your are dismissed for theft he thought that RM removed their own contributions but you would keep yours! I would want that double checked though if it was me.

Not 100% but i think if you took your contrabutions back it would only be those that you got. if you leave it were it is you'll keep the money that RM have paid in.

Paid in for more than 2 years so cant get them back :sad:

The options available to you now are;

leave your contributions in the scheme as a ‘deferred pension’ and
claim upon retirement
or
transfer your contributions to an alternative pension provider. If
you wish to transfer you contributions, please contact the Pensions
Helpline for further advice.

Could I set up another pension plan from another company and transfer them over and claim them that way? I know it wont be much but would be nice to get some money back.

Thanks :)

Depends who your Pension is with.. Could be with the CWFS ( Commnunication Workers Friendy Society ) you should check your PaySlip and see who your Pension Contributions are being paid too, easy way to get their number or other contract details is simpy to Google it.

Wrong!!

CWFS is nothing to do with the RM Pension Scheme. But they do offer very good life and savings plans!

Pensions contributions, from employees and the employer, are paid to the RM Pension Trustees who manage the investments used to pay out our pension.

By the way, I'd be surprsed if any pension scheme allowed you to transfer money in, just to draw it out.

Not only that, but any transfer is at the RM trustee's discretion, so they can and will stop transfers to any other scheme which looks even slightly dodgy.
