if the "Deal" offered is anything like what we've heard on these forums I certainly won't be voting yes,, but remember the users of these forums are the ones most interested in what's going on...

There's a lot of posties and MC workers out there for whom a 2 grand carrot will be just too big to resist...

Just make sure you all talk to your colleagues, especially those who just tend to "go with the flow"

This was the case in 2007 on RMC, but a yes vote was had!!!!

I fear this time will be somewhat different, we all remember getting our fingers burnt last time out.

However the MC staff hold the key in my opinion and should have a seperate ballet.

i have to disagree with you,what would be your reasons for going back on strike,you have to have a means to an end,as for the union,i don't believe they would endorse further industrial action,the objective was to at least be consulted/involved with shaping the future changes,but make no mistake they will happen.
the terms and conditions that it brings are what we are voting on,and ultimately what the union will be judged on.
take d2d's, at the moment we are paid separately for delivering them,but the business would like us to absorb them at no cost,the union appear to be arguing for a supplemental payment.
the argument will be,we were going to lose payment for them,but the union have got us say £500 per year,when infact we are currently earning twice that amount
the main issue that could lead to industrial action,will be the forgotten issue of the pension fund.

The reason for going back on strike is because we are not happy with this agreement, WE are the union and they take their orders from us. If we dont like it, it dont happen.

If it does happen, wave bye bye to the CWU.

i'm not suggesting i'm happy with what's been leaked so far,and on the lttle i've heard,it's not something i could vote yes to,you'll never get everything you want or please everyone,but it's worth remembering a vast majority of people voted for strike action because conditions had become intolerable,have the union recognised and addressed these issues?
it's all very well saying the union will do as we say,but ironically they do as RM tell them,otherwise we wouldn't be in this mess.
remember the CWU has it own agenda,
i'm voting for a pay rise not a pay freeze
i'm voting for dignity and respect at work
i'm voting for a decent pension when i retire

it will be interesting to see if they can deliver on any of them,if the union are saying we want a SWW but in return you must work longer on a saturday,it really means no amount of strikes will alter the position/workplan.

you can bet your bottom dollar if the cap is lifted on d2d's RM will be having us deliver at least 5 per week the revenue is worth a lot to RM
but we will have to do them for nothing.

Of course we have to accept change,that was never in question.
But that does not mean we should lie down meekly and accept anything that is thrown at us..
It is how that change is negotiated and what our limits both physical and financial are that is important.
If the job becomes unbearable that neither helps the union nor Royal Mail.
If the agreement is unacceptable send it back with a message to try again.
