Using my business cards as D2D's...?

Hi All,
I have just started my own part time business and now have some cards printed up...
I was wondering what the rules are on me posting these cards with the rest of my door to door items on my round. Is it allowed?

Is it allowed: Probably not as you will be on RM time and won't have paid them to do it. But as long as they don't find out you should be OK.

Its not allowed and all it will take is one person to complain,and you could find yourself in a lot of trouble, if your going to do it, do it in your own time, sorry to sound like Scrooge at Xmas but be careful.

If you are serious about starting a new business you should be quite prepared to deliver these cards on your own time.

Some one in my old office once took round a flyer for someones 'yard sale' to everyone on his round for nothing with the D2Ds, the old dear said don't worry i'll look after you at christmas. She gave him 2 small bottles of beer. We all laughed.....Seriously though if your DOM finds out I suspect you would get something for it....suspended dismissal probably

You have TIME to do a part time job with the hours RM are now trying impliment.

Good luck with your business, any fall-back job is the best thing to do in the current climate!

Is your walk the right target audience? If you're doing window cleaning, yes, but there are better ways to promote yourself.

There is only a 1 to 2% take-up on mailshots, and that is to existing customers! A blanket of customers on your walk may bring results, but will it justify the cost?

A 1 to 2 per cent response rate is often regarded as normal. But a mailshot to your ten best customers, making them a good offer, could result in a 100 per cent response rate (they all reply) and even a 100 per cent conversion rate (they all place an order).

I delivered a load of business cards for our builder friend who was doing our extention.....he got loads of work from them and finished our extention for free!!! £1000's saved!!

Just playing the devils advocate here but business cards are normally pretty traceable

Or better still open an envelope for each house, put the business card in and reseal the envelope prior to delivery - that's got the be the best way.
