MONDAY NO LIEU DAY - WTF !!

No day in lieu for Saturday, definitely a day in lieu for Monday, yer line manager is wrong, look for the Christmas arrangements on here, it's all in there.

Is this correct - im ok , im off Tuesday, but the lads who are off monday after xmas wont get a lieu day as its a NON SERVICE DAY ! So they all got told today in WTL. Problem is our rep said its true, when asked where he found out he said "the line manager told me" DOH !!

Just wondering if this is correct and we are not being diddled. They got told that it was unfortunate and that they werent losing a day, that everyone else was gaining a day

It's bull,monday is an official Bank Holiday and normal rules apply.

Wronnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg the Saturday (boxing day) has been ruled a "no service day" and no time off will be given for that day in lieu of normal days off that fall on that day. The monday is actually the boxing day bank holiday as a bank holiday cannot fall on a saturday and so any days off falling on that day will be entitled to a day in lieu.

Royal mail had the choice of granting the saturday (with Postcomms permission) as a no service day and either clawing back the time from everyone who got the day OR letting everyone have an extra day off except the small minority who don't actually lose a day off as much as not get an extra one. RM decided the latter choice was fairer and less trouble to administer.

3 Attendance and resourcing arrangements

3.1 Postcomm has agreed Saturday 26 December 2009 is a no service day. There will be no USO collections and deliveries that day, Monday 28 December will be the bank holiday.

3.2 People normally scheduled to work on Saturday will not attend on 26 December and will not be required to make up the hours (i.e. there will be no claw back).

3.3 Rest days will apply in line with normal year round arrangements. Attendances may be varied by local agreement to take account of workload forecasts and service requirements. Where workload requires people can volunteer to work their normal rest day in return for a day in lieu or scheduled attendance. People required to work an additional attendance on a bank holiday, will be paid overtime or credited a day’s holiday in lieu. When their rest day falls on a bank holiday (not Saturday 26), people will receive an additional day holiday (including those working ‘a week off in six’).

3.4 Weekend duty holders will have separate scheduling arrangements based on the same principles as last year.

hi i work nightshift and it is my long weekend at xmas i work a 4 day week so days off would be thurs,fri,sun,monday night will i get two or three days back
