Anyone have their DIM come round today and tell them to take care in the dodgy conditions? They'll be telling us next that the pope is catholic or that bears s**t in the woods. :cuppa

Does anyone remember the "once over the ground shout" from your DOM cancelling the second delivery :nana
At least you got home by 9.30 am back then. Going to be murder on the snow in christmas pressure. :cry

Christmas time, 1995. About 2 foot of snow and then it froze till the end of January. My last winter up there! God it was cold!

on the collections the usual "if you think you can't get then don't go" f**k sake missed loads as it was a sheet of ice, near the end and then it gets white over in 5 mins! so ye i could get out before it snowed! this is the thing very well saying that but it was ok when i went down, managed to get out just! the case for us having either 4*4 s or at least snow tyres was well and truly made, i will point out we are a very rural area, there is no one to hear you scream here!

Got back to the office today to see a little weather warning card telling us to take extra care. It was next to the signing in/out sheet.
It wasn't there when I went out.
Fat lot of good that was, thanks :crazy:

It's starting to snow down here,i hate the feckin stuff.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

It's snowing here... will no doubt be a few inches of the stuff on the ground in the morning too. Will be getting belated warnings about being careful out there on Friday, no doubt. No snow chains in the office either, unless they have them hidden away somewhere.
They had over 130 sets last year, and lots went 'missing' and probably turned up on e-Bay I bet and the ones they did have were way too small for most of the posties to use as well. Will be all wrapped up tomorrow.. from head to foot. Am not freezing my a***e off for this lot, despite what they supply you with, as the hoods on the foul-weather coats are useless to say the least.

Lot's of snow here, and it's forecast to get heavy through the night and early morning.

I've been a postie for nearly a month, so am unfamiliar with what happens with snow. Are we expected to deliver whatever? It's going to be dangerous as hell lugging a trolley about on my walk.

Started snowing here at 6pm yesterday has not stopped hardly at all since. Did all delivery which DOM said was quiet as Lorries were stuck gettingout of London - ;liar - It was busy as feck.
