What determines a Full time or Part time walk?

As above really, only have full time walks at our place at the moment but assume part time walks will materialise. Was wondering if there were certain criteria that determine the two

In our office P/Ts dont do d2ds either but there nothink else to sepaerate a F/T walk from a P/T walk

I was thinking more along the lines of walks that involve driving, or six day a week walks with the week off, or does that not make a difference

One is 8 hours the other 4?

The reason I ask is I was due to cover a walk that required the use of a van but was later declined it as it was not a duty that could be carried out by a part timer, i do remember insurance being mentioned at some point, though how that would have a bearing on things I don't know. I was also thinking that maybe locality had something to do with what walks were suitable for part time.

I can't believe PTers get away with not doing D2D's! LOL

In theory PTers come in get their bag and do their delivery and maybe throw the last of their rounds off before tying up and going out if they are on an actual walk. What tends to happen is they get asked to come in early and have to throw most if not all of their rounds. None that do deliveries work just to their time.

Happymac its allways been the case in our office only regulars do the d2ds.

Theres simply no time in a P/T duty to do d2ds but seen as im a f/t its never affected me.

Do P/Ts o d2ds in your office.

I'm part-time and I do IPS, D2D's and my delivery is as big as the full-timers.

Workload is the difference.

A PT can do anything that they are fully trained for, its simply a matter of having a workload to fit their hours.

D2D's shouldnt affect the delivery aspect as the 20% per day is accounted for within the duties timespan.

in our office the majority of part time walks are bigger ,because all the full timers have seniority and left the dreggs for the part timers after the last resign
oh and the part timers have to do d2ds ,finish prep ,do packet bags ,kill offs than bundle ,bag up ,get to walk and finally pouch off all in 4.30 hours and nearly all the walks(including full timers) are 4 hours plus .the jobs totally FOOKED :cfo

Yeah, that's one of management's better jokes, no matter how many times I hear a manager tell that one, the result is always the same, I just crack up, laugh until my sides ache.
