My daughters xmas present was delivered today by uk mail which got my blood boiling.

The look on his face when he saw i worked for R/M the smugg bar steward . Anyway signed his PDA then he starts going on about our dispute i just said to him look mate the mess we are in its your gain at present .He replied "Yeah keep on doing what your doing as we will take the work off you. What a fecking banker could of punched him rite on the end of his nose.
Then as hes getting into his van starts moaning about being self employed and that he had been up since 04.00 and wasnt going to finish until 19.00 at the earliest i just said to him tough you chose to work for who you do . His face hit deck but he had one last response to me " ive got to do these hours as i get £200 a day".

Well blow me off why fecking moan about it if i were on £200 a day i wouldnt be moaning would you .

Have any of you lot had our business rivals delivering anythink to you and have then engaged in any conversation with you.

I wouldnt mind the amount of uk mail i had in my fitting today was ridiculous BANKERS

Sounds like he was talking shite to me....£200 a day means he's on AT LEAST £50,000 a year. I don't care how many hours he works, no UK mail couriers are earning that!!

I either tell 'em I'm doing it blind, or just send them beyond where they want to go!

you will find he may be not telling you shite about his wage,i know a couple of couriers who work for uk mail and they do earn these sort of wages.but you will find they are owner drivers and have to pay all their own costs,insurance etc.

I've done multi dropping for sh*tty link & I was earning pretty decent money, but doing 16hrs a day ( from start to finish ) Mon-Fri, plus 7 on Saturday with one day's training ( on a different route ) and being like a bear with a sore head and no friends for 4 months only reminds me getting sacked was the best thing that happened!

My ex neighbour is self employed and works for parcel force, he has his own van which he has to pay all the insurance, petrol and maintenance and when he takes time off he pays his some one to cover him, and i think his salary is about 45k but all that comes out of that..

And he works very long hours..

I got home yesterday and as I pulled onto the drive a sh*tty old ford fiesta pulled up on the road outside my house. As I walked down the patha guy got out and shouted me back as he had a parcel for me.

It was a xmas present i'd ordered online from the Perfume Shop - although the guy had a PDA he had no uniform and his car was at least 15 years old. Very professional!

I spoke to a TNT guy who was working out of his own car. He said he covered a very small area of the city. He averages about 90 parcels a day but he says that eg Sainsburys might have 5 parcels and he is paid just under a pound a parcel. Therefore, he says he earns about £90 per day and has to pay his own tax etc, and for the running of his car. Still, not bad money for a few hours work.
