This is what my Essex office was told this morning at a union meeting held by our local area REP.
Next Tuesday/Wednesday anyone who has had their duty made bigger will be invited to meet both the DOM and the office & Region REP and have the extra work taken off their walk. It was said that the change back should be complete by Thursday.
I for one was gobsmacked by this announcement this morning. If it happens (and i really believe it will) then the strikes were of benefit.
Well it wont happen in the north west because our divisional reps have no interest in representing the individual members. We are just obstacles to them, who dont know when we are well off.
The unit rep tells me there will be a meeting next week but he doesnt expect it to be anything of substance because the area rep is rubbish and only interested in furthering his own career.
Haven't heard of any office getting all hours put back into office. However, several offices in our area have managed to get back about 35% of the hours taken out in April.

Well its at times like this you find out who your friends are and your enemies - believe there was a recent election in which a couple of chancers stitched the election in their favour. A bloody good shake up is long overdue for these professional ladder climbers. It took a monumental effort to get the support for a strike in this area and there will definitely be a reckoning sooner or later - it will take a degree of involvement by the membership but I am sure there are agitators who can make it happen.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Perhaps you deserve a fuller explanation - coming from where you do. These changes aren't a month old, or even a year old, these changes have been with us for the best part of eighteen months and more. There was no advice from the union because the unions take on the situation was "by local agreement" there was no blueprint to go on, no experience from other areas and the no cooperation no savings stance was six months away - it was a free for all. When advice was sought it was deemed to be acceptable and so they went ahead with the changes - park and loop alone has been with us for 14 months. So for what my opinion is worth it is those areas, and ours is not in isolation, who deserve the special attention - not those who've been at it a fortnight.

Nice one - at last someone talking sense for a change - in the same boat as you mate and has got big hole in it now - just like you we are the ones they should be looking at - the ones who have been doing it this way for too long!!!
Yesterday we had a meeting with the area manager who address the office and basically said sorry for what has happened and that the any future changes would be agreed with the REP & staff. The walks that have had extra put on them would be reduced. Frames returned to how they were as soon as practicable. End to absorption. - -- 22 hours SA xmas pressure as well.
