Christmas Cut Offs

It's started today with loads of staff cutting off, managers have cut that much over the last year that they can't cope. So one bloke said," where are all 30,000 extra staff we've got then? and then just laughed " what a sham this management really is.

I walked around today for 1hr 45mins today, nice and relaxed while managers ran around like headless chickens.

Im getting paid overtime but i am not doing any extra work. All because the IPS has been cut back so much they cant get me out on time. Where are the savings coming from when they are paying out on overtime to people but are only getting extra time out of them not extra work.

Casuals for xmas interviewed, RM say they can start earliest 21st December Ermmm! when is xmas? ... ...oh yes 25th December same as every year, can someone please tell RM, cos for as long as I have been working for them and that is almost 25years they have never managed to work it out!!

The 9am "missort" run mail wasnt even sorted, the Doms said there wasnt any time to sort it up . Loads of xmas cards , first class etc.. just left for tomorrow...or whenever.
Its a f***ing disgrace.

We have been told that we are expected to work over our time unless we write a letter saying that we wont extend our delivery time......the Doms office was flooded with letters from people saying you can stick your flexibility and enforced O/T up your arses , basically !!

We had yorkies left full of packets mail un-sorted in ips room this is not a public service we provide any more.

As time goes by it becoming more and more of an embarrassment working for R/M.

Was told to bring back what i couldnt do today.

Trouble is i couldnt carry the 2x14 kg bags i couldnt do back to the office as it would be against H&S rules. Plus i had too many packets to return anyway.

Line manager was nowhere to be seen when i got back.

I left him a note on his desk as i dont carry a mobile or cash for phone box.

Is leaving a note the right thing to do in these circumstances?

It's "told you so" time in my office. This year they have geo routed, taken away nights and lost about 12 on voluntary redundancy. No one is cutting off but the overtime is HUGE, when I looked today 84 posties had claimed overtime today and some of the rurals are getting back at 5.30 after their 6am start. There are no spare bods for collections etc the place is fallen apart around our ears. Next week will be fun.

Lorry turns up in the yard should have been in at 4.00,turned up at6.45 some problem up on the road,when he came into the MC the manager said oh just jump it all there so 21 york's later they come up to the DO only due to lack of space had no where to put our gear that had turned up managers seen running around pulling their hair out postie's seen having abit of a chuckle only the DIM DOM had decided in his wisdom to tell his managers that the town staff were to be kept on IPS till the mail was gone thing is they have chopped so many hours and jobs out over the last few months the staff that are left now have to do sorting of walks for P/T staff so there are not that many left to sort the mail or do packets so nothing is getting cleared,then loads of us just decided that we were not staying out to clear the walks,the managers then told us it was christmas and we were expected to help out we then explained that we had not been told anything about christmas so until they included the staff in the planning for it we were just doing our hours,so the office now looks like a packet depot with the odd 2 ton of mail smattered around,they are repping what they have sown
