Is there a maximum amount of stairs a postman has to climb on his walk.?

No but theres a maximum weight you should be carrying if yer walk is mostly made up of them
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

i have 900 tenement stairs so no theres no maximum
IIRC its meant ot be 5kg for stairs,someone will confirm but of course it never happens

How many DOs actaully adhere to this? Is this the law or just H&S guidelines??
Because if my DO actually followed this then some people would be taking out 20 bags and getting finished about bed time, what with going back and forward to pouch-boxes all day.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Is the 5kg for stairs just a reccomendation by the union or is it agreed with RM? If it's agreed with RM, can someone point me in the direction of the agreement, so i can rub my managers face in it.

AFAIK its an agreed limit - in fact they produced it in the "Lighten the Load" booklet http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... en#p123234" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as well and I think any decent H&S rep or the HSE would rip apart any manger forcing people to go beyond the suggested limits.

We do,one of the women who's delivery was bad before is now so bad she sticks to the rules and will not move on it,we have arguments daily,i kid you not we have had managers threaten her, pick on her ,B/H all the time,we have papers in on it you name it we have had it,when the last lot of peggie was done 6 months ago it now has 840 drops of which more than 600 are stairs to flats,we are still trying to get something done i will let you know what happens.
