Already have a 4.5hr delivery span (which is killing me) and every time I get three d2d I can't complete so what chance with unlimited 2d2.

Mines a van delivery but not in the true sense a rural as you park and walk the whole thing

The cwu are looking for a 3 year deal with year 1 a 35 hour net working week with the hourly rate moving to £10 per hour.

SO in essence we lose 40 minutes of paid breaks each day which is 3hrs 20 minutes and to give this up to get a 35 hour week. I know we will still have the breaks but they won't be paid.

Sorry but giving up 3hrs 20 minutes to gain a 1 hrs 40 less work over the week, does not sound like a good idea to me. We would gain a 20 minute earlier finish every day, not exactly a cause for celebration. I just hope the CWU are not seeing this as a way to stop people working their breaks, like they did with the 50hours + Overtime, its short sighted, not in the interests of members (IMHO) but I see the benefits for the CWU.

Confused as well how this would help PTimers as they would lose 30 minutes each day as well for what I can see as no gain except a rise in base pay

Gross not Net and I may change my mind.

Please clarify as I am very worried,but willing to be talked round.

They plan to pair you up,deliver for 3.30 across 2 duties then deliver packets.

I dont want the shorter week if we lose the paid meal relief.

Its stupid really but i drive nearly 9 miles to my delivery as doesthe guy next to me who uses his car. He finds me on the walk and I take his docket lefts and card back and he drives home. When fuel hit a premium a while back and he was moaning I offered to take him with me if we split the difference between or deliveries of about 40 min. But he turned me down as he did not want to work the extra 20 mins.

No! Help is at hand - the interim agreement is here

At the WTL this morning, those meetings I am not allowed to attend, there was a diatribe on park and loop which I was told about - I buttonholed a manager about the changes and indeed the original park and loop which was never agreed - his reply "we do what we want".

There isn't going to be any agreed practices, Royal Mails idea of "agreement" is "discussion" and their idea of "discussion" is executive implemantation.

On second thoughts don't walk towards the light - take a taxi!

How does this compare with the current hourly rate ? And would London Weighting be retained ? Basic pay here in the smoke, if divided by 40hours, works out at slightly over £10/hour.

I bloody hope we didn't lose 18 days pay so our union could get Royal Mail to agree to make an agreement some time after Xmas which, by the way, an agreement that includes a skillfully-negotiated PAY CUT
