Two minute silence.

Did anyone do it today? I put my pouch down and stood in silence for two minutes. Bit weird as it was in a cul de sac and there wasn't a soul around. Then after it had finished an old fella opened his window and shouted "well done son". Jumped out of my skin

I observed the silence today. I managed to time it perfectly between parcels before I did my main bit of walk so sat in van much to the disapproval of the persons who's house I was outside who had to wait for his parcels.

Was in Branch office, stood with Branch Secy (longest I've heard him being silent)

and Divi Rep.
Read somewhere that in only one year of the last 50 has there been no service man or woman killed in action.

Seems like my life has been one long bloody war

was delivering in tesco and took part nearly everyone was doing it apart from 2 old men who chatted thru out..............thought they would have been the 1st to honour the silence............yet a couple of chavs stood there quiet,,,,,,,goes to show

We observed 2 minute silence at mount Pleasant.
I believe there were about 240 men from Mount Pleasant who lost their lives in WW1.

Stood by my bike, hat off and head bowed and shed a few tears - not ashamed of that - just ashamed that we don't seem to be able to spare more time than two minutes for people who have given so much more than that.

I'd set my alarm ( on my phone ) for 11am, and just as it set off, I heard a field gun fire in the distance ( where would one of those be near West Kingsdown.....Brands Hatch? ), so bundle down, hat off, and 2 mins thinking of my great uncle.....then another gun shot, and as I picked up the bundle a customer behind me ( on the other side of the road ) called out "Thanks very much, mate I appreciate you stopping!" I just told him it was my pleasure

I stopped on my round, but these two guys from the council deliverying leaflets carried on chatting and delivering

Yep, certainly stopped, at the end of a close backing on to the beach and the north sea, had radio on in the van so i got the time right and the last post afterwards, very quiet was lost in my thoughts, but felt much better for doing it.

And emotional as it always is remembering some of your family that have gone through this.
I'ts the very least we can do for them , for their lives were hell and for some, it still is!
