Labour Party and my union subs

These were published in 2007 - we were peed off with Labour then too!

Not paid a penny in political levy to Labour since then. Print off and pass around your mates..

It does not stop donation just to the labour party - its stops you paying 10p (I think) into the political fund, which part of goes to Labour, but some comes back into branches and spent on a variety of things to promote political causes of concern to Postal workers/Union members.

Thats 1 reason I don't come out of it. The other being when disaffiliation comes up if you do not pay into the political fund I don't think you get a vote.

A very true and fair point Teebs, but when you see how much our Union actually pays of our political levy contributions to the Labour Party, when all they can do (at Governmental level) is crap on us, I can't subscribe to that and haven't done since 2007. In 2009 it is even more important that we do as little as possible to finance the party of government and the unelected minister who seek to destroy us. Paying the political levy to CWU as it stands is like a turkey putting 10p a week away for Christmas IMHO.
